A hands-on practical demonstration of how to prune your fig tree.
Learn how to 'look' at your tree, the three key aspects of pruning figs, practice pruning and take away fig sticks to strike your own fig tree if you wish.
F.A.W.C!ers will get a practical demonstration of fig tree pruning with tips of things to do, timing and things NOT to do. Bring your own secateurs and try your hand at pruning fig trees under supervision of the Te Mata Figs 'fig grower'.
At the culmination of the event, discover how to propagate figs, and take some fig sticks back to start your own trees and wow their friend and relatives with their newfound expertise!
F.A.W.C! is a series of exceptional food and wine experiences set in stunning locations in Hawke’s Bay. Running twice a year, F.A.W.C! is a chance to get up close and personal with chefs and food producers, wine makers and the clever people that make up the New Zealand food and wine scene. F.A.W.C! Winter Series runs over the 4 weekends in June 2022.
