Jean Brito

Chef Jean Brito is a chef and co-owner of Auckland-based Mexican restaurant, Tacoteca. Originally hailing from Mexico City, he is passionate about food and the ritual of feeding people. He has over 17 years of experience in the culinary industry, is classically trained, has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants and helmed kitchens on cruise ships around the world, and has now come full circle to his roots with Tacoteca. Jean has hosted many masterclasses across his career on the ships, at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and, most recently, through Social Cooking's team-building experiences. He is a strong believer in how much the atmosphere informs the experience and he builds interactive sessions filled with knowledge, humour and flavour.
